About the experience
Schedule:
1. Welcome and Introduction (15 mins)
- Icebreaker activity to introduce participants and facilitators.
- Overview of the workshop objectives and schedule.
2. Understanding Ageing Parents (30 mins)
- Brief lecture on the physical, emotional, and cognitive changes in ageing parents.
- Discussion on common issues like health problems, dependency, and social isolation.
- Q&A session to address participants' specific concerns.
3. Empathy and Communication (30 mins)
- Alter Ego role playing activity to help participants experience the perspective of their ageing parents.
- Techniques for effective communication, including active listening and empathy.
- Group discussion on improving communication and understanding.
4. Art Together (1 hour)
- Try out different art forms to create piece a together. Assisted by Jivisha Women, a non profit for skilling and empowerment of women, supported by our community.
- Sharing and discussing the artwork in pairs or small groups.
5. Connecting through Music (30 mins)
- Group music and movies games
- Sing-along Karaoke to evoke memories and emotions.
6. Reflection and Closing (15 mins)
- Participants reflect on their learnings and experiences from the workshop.
- Group discussion on the finding reqular activities to involve and contribute to the society.
