About the experience

India, Meet India is a Day of Coexistence series created to reduce stereotypes through exposure and cultural exchange.

Each edition explores a different region of India.

Join us for the Kerala Edition as we experience its Onam traditions, food, art, music, stories, social movements, tourism, and vibrant culture.

Whether you have roots in Kerala, have always been curious about its culture, or simply love exploring India, this event is for you.

What You'll Experience

🍲 Celebrate Onam with an Authentic Sadhya

Experience one of Kerala's most beloved traditions through an authentic Onam Sadhya — an elaborate vegetarian feast traditionally served on a banana leaf.

Discover the stories and rituals behind this celebratory meal as you taste the many flavours of Kerala, from avial and thoran to olan, pachadi, sambar, payasam, and more.

Learn why Sadhya is about much more than food — it is a celebration of abundance, community, equality, and coming home.

🎨 Create Your Own Pookalam

Bring a little Kerala home with you.

Learn about Pookalam, the beautiful floral arrangements created during Onam to welcome King Mahabali.

Instead of creating one temporary Pookalam together, you'll create your own miniature Pookalam-inspired artwork at your table — something you can take home and keep.

As you create, discover the stories, symbolism, colours, and traditions behind one of Kerala's most recognisable Onam rituals.

👩🏽‍⚖️ Kerala & Its Social Reformers

Kerala's story isn't just about backwaters and beaches.

Explore the remarkable social reform movements that challenged caste discrimination, opened up access to education, questioned social hierarchies, and helped reshape Kerala's society. Learn about some of the people who changed its history — from Sree Narayana Guru and Ayyankali to Chattampi Swamikal and Vakkom Moulavi — and discover how their ideas continue to influence modern India.

Discover the stories of people and movements that have shaped modern India — from Dr. Verghese Kurien and India's White Revolution to mathematics, science, space research, literature, cinema, healthcare, and the cooperative movement.

Explore the lesser-known Kerala connections behind some of India's biggest ideas, institutions, and achievements.

📚 The Kerala Model: Literacy, Education & Social Development

How did Kerala become one of India's most literate states?

Through conversations, stories, and trivia, explore Kerala's remarkable journey in education, literacy, public health, libraries, and social development.

From village libraries and mass literacy campaigns to its high levels of female literacy, discover what has made Kerala an important case study in human development.

🏛️ Kerala History & Culture Trivia

Travel through time as we uncover fascinating facts about Kerala's history, geography, communities, festivals, architecture, art forms, literature, cinema, influential personalities, and contributions to India.

From the ancient spice trade and the Malabar coast to Onam, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Theyyam, Kalaripayattu, Vallam Kali, the Western Ghats, and Kerala's global Malayali diaspora, discover the many stories that make Kerala extraordinary.

About India, Meet India

India, Meet India is a cultural exploration initiative by A Little Love, , a nonprofit ecosystem working towards a more empathetic world and sustainable coexistence.

Many of the assumptions and stereotypes we hold about people, regions, cultures, and communities are not born from experience—they are born from a lack of exposure. When we haven't met people, heard their stories, shared their food, understood their traditions, or experienced their realities, it becomes easy to rely on labels and assumptions.

We believe curiosity is one of the most powerful tools for building understanding.

Through cultural events, conversations, community experiences, and immersive journeys across India, we create opportunities for people to learn directly from one another and appreciate the richness of our country's diversity.

Because sustainable coexistence begins with understanding.

And understanding begins when India meets India.

One state. One culture. One story at a time.
