About the experience

India, Meet India is a Day of Coexistence series created to reduce stereotypes through exposure and cultural exchange.

Each edition explores a different region of India.

Discover Bengal beyond fish, Durga Pujo, and stereotypes.

Join us for a guided Bengali food and cultural walk in CR Park, Delhi, led by Debjyoti Ghosh, a Bengali in Delhi and Community Builder with Alter Ego.

What You'll Experience

🍲 The Bengali 'Adda' and Street Food

Start with a cup of chai and some good old Bengali adda. And yes, we’ll talk about the stereotype of Bengalis, cigarettes, and intellectual conversations too.

Then explore the Bengali street food: Phuchka, Churmur, Chop, Cutlet, rolls, ghugni, jhalmuri, and more...

🛕 CR Park Kalibari

Visit the iconic Kalibari not as a religious stop, but as a window into Bengal’s cultural life. Learn about the traditions, stories, and history behind its famous Durga Puja.

🛍️ A Little Kolkata in Delhi

Walk through CR Park’s Bengali shops and markets, discover familiar flavours and products, and experience the neighbourhood that has become a little piece of Kolkata in Delhi.

🎶 Bengal in Music

Pause for a few musical performances and discover the sounds that shaped Bengal—from Rabindra Sangeet to music that found its way into Bollywood.

🍛 Bengali Dinner at Maa Taara

Try the classics—Luchi, Aloo Posto, Kosha Mangsho, Bhetki Paturi, Chicken Kasha, Kolkata-style Biryani, and other Bengali favourites.

Prepare to rethink the idea that Bengali food is all about fish.

If you are a vegetarian, get ready to discover the incredible variety of vegetarian Bong cuisine along the way.

🍬 End with Mishti

Finish with Bengal’s sweetest traditions—Mishti Doi, Sandesh, Rasgulla, and other Bengali sweets, perhaps followed by an ice cream to end the evening on a happy note.

About India, Meet India

India, Meet India is a cultural exploration initiative by A Little Love, a nonprofit ecosystem working towards a more empathetic world and sustainable coexistence.

Many of the assumptions and stereotypes we hold about people, regions, cultures, and communities are not born from experience—they are born from a lack of exposure. When we haven't met people, heard their stories, shared their food, understood their traditions, or experienced their realities, it becomes easy to rely on labels and assumptions.

We believe curiosity is one of the most powerful tools for building understanding.

Through cultural events, conversations, community experiences, and immersive journeys across India, we create opportunities for people to learn directly from one another and appreciate the richness of our country's diversity.

Because sustainable coexistence begins with understanding.

And understanding begins when India meets India.

One state. One culture. One story at a time.
