About the experience

This Thanksgiving, we're taking the long road.

This is a small-group road trip to Harsil, curated for people who enjoy travel, conversations, local food, art, culture, stories and meaningful connections.

Five days.

One Himalayan destination.

A small group of curious travellers.

And plenty of reasons to put your phone down and talk to someone.

Harsil is the destination.

But we'll break the long route at Landour and Kanatal along the way to pause, rest, explore a little, and enjoy the journey.

About Harsil

Tucked away in the Bhagirathi Valley of Uttarakhand, Harsil is the kind of Himalayan destination that still feels like you have arrived somewhere rather than simply checked into a tourist town.

Rivers, forests, apple orchards, mountain villages and the surrounding high Himalayas make Harsil a place to slow down and look around.

And that's exactly how we want to experience it.

Through people, food, stories, landscapes, local traditions and conversations.

🗺 Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi to Landour (~6-7 hours, 320km)

Our first night is in Landour, a charming overnight halt before we continue deeper into Uttarakhand.

We'll have some time to explore:

  • Sisters Bazaar

  • St. Paul's Church

  • Lal Tibba

  • Landour Bakehouse

And then settle into our stay with a relaxed evening of:

    Bonfire • Icebreakers • Games • Food • Conversations

The first day is about getting comfortable with the people you're going to spend the next few days travelling with.

Day 2 &3 : Landour to Harsil (~7 hours, 185 km) and Harsil exploration

On Day 2, we leave Landour and make our way towards Harsil and the Bhagirathi Valley.

For the next 2 days, we'll explore the riverside landscapes around Harsil and discover:

  • Bhagirathi River

  • Mukhba Village

  • Apple orchards

  • Nelong Valley and Gartang Gali

  • Sattal near Harsil

And most importantly, we'll have time to simply be in Harsil.

No rushing from one attraction to another.

Day 4: Harsil to Kanatal(~5-6 hours, 170 km)

It's time to leave Harsil.

But we're not heading straight back to Delhi.

We halt at the no- so-offbeat-anymore, but still a beautiful town above Tehri, Kanatal, giving us another beautiful mountain evening before the journey home.

We'll stop around:

  • Tehri Lake

  • Kaudia Forest

  • Eco Park

And enjoy one last evening in the mountains with the group.

Day 5: Kanatal to Delhi

After breakfast, we begin our drive back to Delhi.

The mountains disappear behind us.

The group heads home.

And hopefully, the WhatsApp group doesn't die the next day.

(That's the real test of a community trip.)

Thanksgiving in the Mountains

Thanksgiving is a good excuse to pause and appreciate the things we often rush past.

A beautiful landscape.

A local meal.

A long conversation.

A stranger who becomes a friend.

A road you've never travelled before.

A place that makes you look at the world a little differently.

So this year, we're spending Thanksgiving where we like being most:

on the road, around a table, in the mountains, with curious people.

Harsil is the destination.
The people make the journey.
