About the experience
We all love stories.
From movies, books, sports documentaries, autobiographies, history, or even the people around us.
The heroes, rebels, thinkers, and dreamers we admire often reflect qualities we secretly want to live ourselves.
At First Love Yourself (FLY), we use those stories as a playful starting point to explore our own identity and life journey.
This is a fun, social, and experiential journaling workshop where we create space to reflect on our lives, share stories, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves we may have forgotten along the way, in a small cozy group setting, over coffee, creativity, and community.
How the FLY Workshop Works
Every participant receives a mini prompted journal created specially for the workshop, with exercises to reflect on your life, influences, and the stories that have shaped you.
The session includes:
Guided journaling using the FLY mini journal
Creative reflection exercises exploring identity and personal stories
Activities inspired by stories from books, movies, sports, and people we admire
Paired and small-group story sharing and conversations (share as much as you like)
Light, interactive exercises that make the workshop experiential and social
Introduction to the Alter Ego tool used by athletes, performers, and leaders to redesign how they show up in life
How does Alter Ego help you in Self-love?
An Alter Ego is simply a version of yourself that represents qualities you admire and want to embody — courage, discipline, honesty, creativity, or confidence.
Many athletes, performers, and leaders use this technique to step beyond fear, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs.
Instead of waiting to “feel ready,” they borrow qualities from characters, role models, or identities that inspire them and practice showing up as that version of themselves.
In the context of self-love, this process helps you:
See yourself with more compassion instead of harsh self-judgment
Separate your identity from past failures or labels
Experiment with new ways of thinking and behaving
Reconnect with curiosity, creativity, and imagination that often fades in adulthood
Design a healthier relationship with yourself
We'll explore stories that inspire us — from books, films, sports, history, or people we admire.
Because often, the qualities we admire in others reveal something we are ready to awaken within ourselves.
The workshop creates a space to explore that.
What the FLY Workshop Really Is (And What It's Not)
This is not a support group where people only vent.
We do talk honestly about our struggles and experiences but the intention is to reflect, learn, and grow from them together.
Through journaling, storytelling, creative exercises, and conversation, participants often discover:
New perspectives about their life journey
A deeper understanding of themselves
The beginning of a freer story about who they can become
Sometimes the first step to loving yourself is simply seeing your life with fresh eyes.
FAQ: Can a 2-hour FLY workshop make me love myself again?
Probably not.
But it can create the moment where the journey begins.
The workshop helps you pause, reflect, and visualize what a freer, more authentic version of yourself might look like.
For those who want to continue the journey, our broader Alter Ego programs and journaling tools help people take those insights further through structured exploration and community support.
But the first step is simple:
Sit down. Reflect. Tell your story.
And begin writing the next chapter.
